The Authorities in Certification

The AABC Commissioning Group is dedicated to the advancement of independent, third-party commissioning services. ACG strives to promote a better understanding of the commissioning process, and to identify, educate and certify qualified commissioning authorities.

The Associated Air Balance Council is dedicated to the advancement of independent, third-party testing and balancing. The association’s mission is to certify highly qualified, independent test and balance agencies.

The Energy Management Association is dedicated to advancing the quality of energy management for the benefit of the building owner. EMA is committed to the certification and training of Energy Management Professionals (EMPs).

AABC establishes industry standards for the field measurement and documentation of HVAC systems and provides education, technical training, and certification for its members.

  • Suggested Drawing Specification

    An independent Testing and Balancing Agency certified by the AABC shall be engaged to Test and Balance the HVAC systems. Systems shall be balanced to plus/minus 10% of design requirements. The contractor shall place all systems and equipment into full operation for Testing and Balancing. One copy of the final Test and Balance report with the AABC National Performance Guaranty shall be sent directly to the engineer of record. Provide five (5) additional copies to the contractor.
